Close Radius: A Survey of New England Ceramic Artists Within a Hundred Miles of Keene, NH
February 23- March 24, 2012
This exhibition displays works by fourteen ceramic artists with varied approaches to art making. The works are by functional potters and ceramic artists with a more sculptural approach. A number of the artists’ works are highly decorative and relay a narrative while others use a single glaze to bring attention to the form and function of the piece.
This survey includes local Keene artists Sam Azzaro, Katharina Rooney and Tanya Rudenjak as well as Portsmouth, NH potter, Maureen Mills. Massachusetts artists are Kathy King, Shawn Panepinto, Forrest Snyder and Paige Wilder, Vermont artists are Martina Lantin, Aysha Peltz, Todd Wahlstrom and Malcolm Wright and Connecticut artists are Walter Hall and Matthew Towers.
The curator is Paul McMullan Assistant Professor of Art at Keene State College.
The Carroll House gallery at Keene State College is located on Main Street, beside the Alumni Center.
Hours: Wed 2-5 and Thur – Sat 12-5pm. All Carroll House Gallery events are free and open to the public and wheelchair accessible.
