New mural talk & tour

Sat, May 18th 2-3pm at 310 marlboro st in Keene

***This is currently a construction site and the artist is using a lift to paint the mural! We'll meet at the front of the building at 2PM and take a short walk around. Call Georgia Cassimatis, Friends of Public Art at 631-872-4156 for details.***

For May is Mural Month 2024, Friends of Public Art is hosting Russian-born, Berlin-based artist Polina Soloveichik, who will paint a series of 4 murals on one facade of 310 Marlboro Street. The 5-day project starts Tues, May 14th and goes through Sat, May 18th. The theme of the project is the realm of Abstract Nature, which will explore Energy, Re-Birth, Rejuvenation, Nature, and Live-Work-Play.

Please join us to hear from FPA and Polina on the mural themes and process on the last day of the project on Saturday, May 18th at 2PM. Property owner and architect Randall Walter, who is co-sponsoring and working closely with FPA on the project, will be present to take us through a tour of the historic building after the talk. The building at 310 Marlboro Street was built in the mid-20th century to house a paintbrush factory. Currently construction is underway to add 50+ apartment units by increasing the height of the building. At this time there are 40+ businesses operating there, including The Edge Ensemble Theatre and MC2 Charter School's CoCreate Makerspace.
