Creating Art as Community
We’re celebrating with a free afternoon of Creating Art as Community to highlight the joy of making all sorts of art accessible to all sorts of populations. The free afternoon portion of our celebration will be to honor all the amazing things that come from creating art as a community. We hope you’ll join us, get your hands dirty, bring some memories and make some new ones!
There will be a ticketed evening Off-The-Wall Party featuring unique pop-up performances, a cash bar by Machina Arts and artful hors d'oeuvres by CC&D’s Kitchen Market.
about the afternoon of community arts activities
Help finish a wheat paste mural
Artist Molly Fletcher is designing a wheat paste mural for our afternoon of artmaking. She’ll bring the design, and a load of colors - YOU get to add the color to the mural! The mural will hang in downtown Keene, for a year and be part of the mural movement happening all over town - you’ll be able to leave your mark!
Build a sculpture of art ephemera
Artist Katharina Rooney will lead a collaged sculpture-making project to create a work of art that celebrates and honors all those memories of shows, concerts, performances and more from years past. Drop in with your tickets, playbills, posters, postcards and lend a hand bringing the collage together!
Learn and Perform a song for a music video
Musician and Artist Jim Murphy has written us a song that celebrates all the wonder and beauty that come from engaging in the arts for our 10 year anniversary. We’ll learn the song at the end of the afternoon and a simple dance, and filmmaker Jeff Kolter and sound artist Ben Rogers will be there to record the group performance!
