A Real Woman
A Real Woman is a short narrative film written and directed by Amanda Coelho Sennett that explores gender, identity, and the importance of female voices in the arts. Set within a performance art exhibition, the film uses satire and humor to challenge assumptions about authorship, perception, and what it means to truly see another person.
Produced in collaboration with emerging artists and recent Keene State College graduates, A Real Woman will be filmed in the Monadnock Region and completed in early 2027. Following post-production, the film will be submitted to festivals across the country before its eventual public release.
Currently in production, A Real Woman is seeking community support to help cover production costs including equipment, locations, housing and meals for cast and crew, post-production, and film festival submission fees. Every contribution helps bring this locally made film to life while supporting the next generation of artists and filmmakers in the Monadnock Region.
Arts Alive offers fiscal sponsorship to new arts organizations working their way towards independence as nonprofits and to artists exploring community-centered projects and creating work in the Monadnock region.
