Mini Grants
offering arts a head $tart
Arts Alive is passionate about supporting people with passion and creative ideas to pursue and share creativity and artistry with the community. The organization offers mini grants of up to $250 to artists and creative businesses in the Monadnock region. Applications for 2024 Mini Grants will be open from August 5th through September 22nd. A jury of local arts leaders will review the applications in early October, and Arts Alive will distribute grants to selected projects in the last week of October.
Through the Mini Grants program, Arts Alive seeks to boost our local creative community, especially those that identify as experiencing financial hardship, in their professional and creative endeavors. We encourage emerging artists to apply as well!
Grants support one or both of the following goals:
Artists get better at their craft by getting time, equipment, or other support to bring their ideas or creative practice to "the next level"
The wider community, or specific groups within the wider community, have increased access to meaningful arts experiences
Grants can be used to cover a wide range of costs, including
travel expenses
renting a space
website building
purchasing or renting equipment or materials
child or family care
attending a class or workshop
marketing a project, workshop, album, or event
studio renovation
applying to festivals
getting takeout dinners for the family for a week while you work on a project
expenses related to a community event
fees for installing public art
hiring a creative collaborator
documentation of work
Check out some stories from last year’s grantees—this will help applicants understand past projects that have received awards. Projects or ideas must be specific.
Arts Alive raises the bulk of the funds for mini grants online through The New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits’ 24-hour online fundraiser NH Gives in early June. If you would like to make a gift to the program, you still can! Visit our Minigrants Campaign on GiveButter, a secure online donation platform.
