Arts Alive is growing, and we are looking for volunteers who want to put their skills to work in support of the Monadnock Region’s creative community. Some opportunities are hands-on and project-based, while others are more ongoing. Whether you love spreadsheets, strategy, research, community building, or helping good ideas actually happen, there is likely a place for you here.

You do not need to be an artist to get involved. If you care about the arts and want to help strengthen the creative ecosystem in our region, we would love to hear from you.

Current volunteer opportunities

Help Arts Alive support public-facing programs, events, and volunteer coordination.
Assist with event support and community outreach at Arts Alive’s table during Thing in the Spring (May 15–17)
Help adapt and implement a volunteer coordination system for Arts Alive using a model shared by a local partner organization
Support setup of volunteer tools, workflows, and communications to improve recruitment and coordination
Assist with light ongoing volunteer management and system maintenance throughout the season
Contribute to longer-term planning for a regional volunteer coordination model serving Arts Alive and other partner organizations
grant support volunteer
Help Arts Alive strengthen and organize our grant pipeline by supporting research, tracking, and deadline management.
Build and maintain our internal grant tracker with deadlines, funder details, and application notes
Research grant opportunities for Arts Alive programs, including arts education, public art, and community initiatives
Identify and organize prospective funders, including foundations, local agencies, and regional grantmakers
Support deadline management by helping integrate grant timelines into our organizational calendar
Assist with light ongoing grant prospecting and database updates (approximately 1–2 hours per month after initial setup)
Government Affairs Support Volunteer
Help Arts Alive strengthen relationships with local government leaders across the Monadnock Region.
Build and maintain a contact list of town clerks, councilors, and other municipal representatives across the 41 towns in the Monadnock Region
Help develop outreach tools, including a simple value proposition and introductory email template
Organize and enter contacts into our database for future advocacy and relationship-building
Research key municipal budgeting and funding dates and add them to the Arts Alive fundraising calendar
Support the development of a practical outreach plan to build relationships with local officials and civic partners
individual donor cultivation volunteer
Help Arts Alive strengthen individual giving through donor research, strategy, and relationship-building support.
Assist with donor prospect research by reviewing and organizing information on high-potential individual supporters
Help identify giving patterns, philanthropic interests, and connection points to inform outreach strategies
Support the development of thoughtful, tailored cultivation approaches for prospective donors
Maintain discretion and confidentiality while handling sensitive donor research and relationship information
Provide light event planning support for donor cultivation gatherings and special fundraising events, including a fall donor party (details to come)
DEIA coordinator
Arts Alive is looking for a thoughtful, collaborative volunteer to serve as our DEIA Coordinator, someone who can help us actively live our values as an organization. This role supports Arts Alive in embedding diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility into our programs, communications, and decision-making processes. This role focuses on research, analysis, and feedback to help ensure our work aligns with our DEIA values.
