Arts Ambassadors

artlovers unite to talk up the arts

About the Program

Arts Alive believes access to the arts and creativity is a human right. Ambassadors for the arts use their voices, presence, and skills to advocate for this right and for the continued and flourishing presence of the arts in our communities. Sometimes, advocacy looks like writing an op-ed or a letter to an elected official. Sometimes, it's attending a public meeting to express the importance of including funding for the arts in city planning, public education, or political campaigns.

Other times, shining as an Arts Ambassador means showing support at a gallery opening or performance by a stellar arts organization, and then sharing your awesome experience with your friends or online. Arts organizations often need volunteers for programming, operations, and events. Ambassadors help out there, too!

To support and grow our group of arts lovers interested in arts activism, Arts Alive holds monthly meetups and outings. Feel connected to the local arts community and inspired to take action to support the arts with us! We’ll learn something new about the importance and impact of the arts, either by visiting and discussing local initiatives, coming together to learn tools for arts advocacy, or going out and experiencing the arts as a group.

We want to expand the community who is actively fighting for arts & culture in our region. The Ambassador program is a means to this end. For many years Arts Alive has taken the lead on advocating for the arts and providing resources and connections for the community. Learn more in our video about our history & work. We can’t wait to bring you into it as an Ambassador!

Once you sign up as an Arts Ambassador, you’ll get added to our Facebook group for Arts Ambassadors & Artlovers. New ambassadors receive a swag bag with a stack of Discover Monadnock Arts brochures to distribute locally, a lovely soft Arts Ambassadors t-shirt featuring art by Hannah Ellingwood, a sticker with our signature chickadee, and social media shoutout with your photo and a quote about what the arts mean to you. Expect regular emails about upcoming meetups, opportunities to take action for the arts, and information on being an awesome arts advocate!

We ask for a $50 contribution from Ambassadors ($25 for students.) Reach out to us if cost is an issue, but you’d still like to join the team! We can always work something out—info@monadnockartsalive.org

Arts Alive can equip arts advocates with the tools they need, like ideas and opportunities to show up for the arts and data from studies like Arts & Loneliness and Arts & Economic Prosperity. We also provide the Discover Monadnock arts & culture events calendar so arts lovers know about all the great things happening in the region.

Reach out to us or sign up for a meetup if you're interested in becoming an Arts Ambassador!
