Volunteer with Arts Alive

Arts Alive is growing, and we are looking for volunteers who want to put their skills to work in support of the Monadnock Region’s creative community. Some opportunities are hands-on and project-based, while others are more ongoing. Whether you love spreadsheets, strategy, research, community building, or helping good ideas actually happen, there is likely a place for you here.

Who Should Volunteer?

We welcome volunteers with experience in:

  • nonprofit administration

  • finance support

  • grants and fundraising

  • research and strategy

  • community engagement

  • volunteer management

  • legal, tax, or business services

You do not need to be an artist to get involved. If you care about the arts and want to help strengthen the creative ecosystem in our region, we would love to hear from you.

Current volunteer opportunities

Government Affairs Support

Help us build stronger relationships with local municipalities and elected officials by gathering contact lists, researching local leadership, and helping us identify opportunities for partnership and funding. This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys research, civic engagement, and community relationship-building.

business analyst

Help support Arts Alive’s financial team and monthly reconciliation at an overview level. This is a great fit for someone with nonprofit finance, bookkeeping, or accounting experience who can offer steady guidance and help us strengthen our systems.

Grant Review and Support

Support Arts Alive’s grant work by helping track deadlines, review drafts, and serve as a second set of eyes on applications. Staff would lead the writing and budgeting, but a strong support person would make the process more manageable and effective. This role is best for someone who is detail-oriented and comfortable with writing review, editing, or project accountability.

Grants Calendar Setup

We are looking for someone to help build and organize our grants tracking calendar using an existing tool. This project would likely take about 3 to 5 hours to get started, followed by about 1 hour every other week to maintain. Ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing timelines.

Professional Services and Business Network Research

Help us identify and connect with professionals in legal, tax, accounting, and financial services who may be interested in supporting Arts Alive through pro bono work, referrals, partnerships, or future board service. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys research, networking strategy, and community relationship development.

Donor Prospect Research

Work with us to research priority donor prospects and help shape thoughtful cultivation strategies. This role involves background research, analysis, and discretion, and would be ideal for someone with experience in fundraising, development, communications, or strategic research.

Volunteer Coordination Support

Help us adapt and pilot a volunteer management system for Arts Alive based on a successful structure used by another local organization. This project would take around 10 hours to set up, with just a few hours each week to maintain. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys systems-building, administration, and making organized magic out of chaos.
