Emergency Funding announced for performing arts venues in NH

Governor Chris Sununu and the GOFERR announced the allocation of $12 million from the state's CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Funds for the Live Venue Relief Program.

The application is quick and easy - Complete it ASAP or by 10/13/2020

This program supports performance venues facing economic hardship due to COVID-19 that host live theatrical presentations, musical entertainment, or sporting or racing events that are seated, ticketed, and open to the public. The program is open to both for-profit and nonprofit facilities and will provide recipients up to $1.5 million.

This is incredible news for the arts community. It is also great news for communities who rely on those arts venues as anchor institutions that drive traffic and vibrancy to their downtowns. Venues were first to close and will likely be last to open. Many have furloughed staff and are unsure about when and how operations will resume. The Governor and GOFERR are protecting venues which all are either closed or required to operate at a capacity that doesn't support the cost of bringing in programming.

The money for this program is coming from federal CARES act funds allocated to the State of NH.

Deadline: Tuesday, 10/13/2020 - but get your application in as soon as possible!
