Spread the word - Pottery Programming has Begun in Dublin!

We are close to making our year long dream of a new community pottery center for our region a reality. In the meantime, our Sharing Arts group has been busy. We now have a temporary kiln location set up in Dublin, ready for regular firings. We've had an intern help develop our studio procedures to pave the way to our studio opening, and we've developed some new classes to get your hands dirty while you wait.

Regular Firings now available!

Have you been looking for an affordable place to get your work fired? We now are offering a regular option of having it fired in our kiln in Dublin.

How it works:  Go to the link below and choose a firing date to reserve a spot.  You will be sent an email with additional information to coordinate with Kimberly Kersey-Asbury for the drop off of your items in Dublin. Pricing will be determined at drop off by volume and will be payable by cash or check.  Our rate is 5 cents per cubic inch ($1 minimum). You will be contacted to arrange pick up once your items are finished.

Notes: If you wish to reserve the entire kiln, please let us know prior to drop off as special arrangements need to be made and special pricing will apply.  Sharing Arts founding members will be first in line for firings. If your items need additional drying we reserve the right to wait until the next firing date.

Virtual Handbuilding Classes - Sundays in February and March!

Starting February 7th, we are offering virtual clay hand building classes to our community. You will be provided with all necessary materials ahead of the class and then meet virtually during class time. There will be three, 2-session classes offered focusing on different techniques - slab, coil and 'scoop' (subtractive).

Each session will include a one-hour demonstration by the instructor, followed by individualized support as students work on their own pieces.   A follow up, one-on-one glazing session will be scheduled following the second class for those who are comfortable meeting at the instructor's studio.

FUNDRAISING UPDATE - WE NEED BUSINESSES TO HELP PUT US OVER THE TOP!

Thanks to the contributions of so many of you, we are very close to making our $112,500 fundraising goal that will allow us to fit up and equip our studio in Dublin Village Park.

What’s left? We need to sell our remaining 20,000 in tax credits to NH Businesses. These credits are a great deal for any business who wants to make a community impact - for every dollar they give, they will get back 75 cents in the form of tax credits this year. The process is easy: If your company is interested, or you know of someone who owns a business who would be interested in learning more, please get in touch with Roy - roy@maxtmakerspace.org and he will walk you through it!
