A spotlight on a local organization that was incubated by Arts Alive!’s fiscal sponsorship arts incubation program. “(The program) was Instrumental in us being able to establish and operate as a nonprofit,” said Burns. “We learned important lessons to operate as a legal entity. It allowed us to start to build our organization around what we were doing, organize, establish plans and garner the support of the community. (Arts Alive!) provided a sounding board and was a source of advice.”
As many of us were isolated during the pandemic, especially in its early days, artist/illustrator/teacher Robert Seaman, 88, was especially so. During a lockdown period at the assisted living facility he calls home, he desperately needed a creative outlet and turned to his life-long passion–drawing—to help buoy him in dark times. He began creating a doodle a day. These Daily Doodles turned his activity into a way to give back.

A email-writing campaign to Governor Sununu and the Joint Legislative Fiscal Committee has begun! We are requesting that a minimum of $1 million of the state’s American Rescue Plan funds be deposited into the Fund. Suggested language (feel free to edit as you see fit!) and email addresses follow.

MC2 Charter School’s Let It Slide event is a wild night of improv storytelling and speechmaking combined with meme-inspired powerpoint presentations - and it's like nothing you’ve ever seen before. Plus it includes civic participation - audience members get to vote for their favorite story or storyteller. Back from its pandemic hiatus, this Let It Slide event is sharing the profits and love with several area nonprofits including - Hundred Nights, Keene Housing Kids Collaborative, MCVP, Culinary Journeys, MC2 Charter School, and Arts Alive!
“All of these nonprofits are awesome and everyone should come out to support this fun and interactive event - and see some of your community leaders try to not fail on stage.,” says Executive Director Jessica Gelter.
Any money raised by Arts Alive! event will be put into our mini grants for artists fund. We’ll be launching these mini grants this fall to help give artists a little boost towards making their creative dreams come true.

Arts Alive! is offering $50-$250 mini-grants to artists and creative businesses in the Monadnock region. Applications are open from September 1-October 15, 2021. Grants will be awarded to projects that further either the artist or creative business - expanding their professional abilities or increasing how many people they can reach with arts experiences.
Radically Rural seeks submissions of Creative Placemaking projects in rural communities across the US and its territories. All projects will be posted to the virtual board of Radically Rural creative placemaking and all project submitters will receive discount tickets to Radically Rural. 10 selected projects will be invited to share their story as a 7 minute presentation during Session 3 of the Arts Track of the 2021 Radically Rural national summit. Presentations can be made from the summit location in Keene, New Hampshire, or virtually from a presenter’s chosen location. Presenters will be given FREE tickets to Radically Rural. The 2021 Summit is September 22-23, 2021.
Arts Alive! to Receive Funding and Assistance from National Endowment for the Arts
In its ongoing support of rural communities, the National Endowment for the Arts, in partnership with the Housing Assistance Council, announces the 2021 communities taking part in its national initiative, the Citizens’ Institute on Rural Design (CIRD). Keene is one of four communities selected for a multi-day design workshop to address small scale and tangible design and building projects in the downtown “Arts Corridor” concept. This project is being led by Arts Alive! in partnership with many individual artists and organizations.
