the big idea
The mission of Who Will Remain – A Holocaust Reflection weaves together music, poetry, and historical narrative to honor the lived experience of a woman resistance fighter during the Holocaust. Through words and music of fear, loss, resilience, and hope, the piece seeks to give artistic form to the emotional truths of lives interrupted, through exile, displacement, and the devastating weight of being marked as “the other.” We aspire to engage with audiences both emotionally and intellectually, and to remind us that the prevention of hatred and violence is a universal human concern, regardless of faith, nationality, gender, and socio- economic background. Our goal is to offer free performances to the public while collaborating with local non-profits, religious institutions, cultural organizations, and other community groups, ensuring the performances reflect and serve the needs of each community in which we perform.
Our vision is to create a space where memory becomes music, where silence is broken by poetry, and where history is felt—not just told. Through an evocative blend of sound, story, and verse, Who Will Remain aims to awaken deep emotional understanding of the Holocaust and the enduring experiences of those cast as “the other.” We strive to spark reflection, inspire dialogue, and cultivate a shared sense of humanity across faiths, cultures and generations.
Goals
A. Tracking audience engagement and attendance through the following metrics: number of attendees, demographics of attendees and ascertaining how they found out about the project.
B. Collecting audience feedback through post-performance surveys, gathering qualitative and quantitative feedback on audience experiences. Sample questions may include "Did this performance deepen your understanding of the historical subject matter?" "What was the emotional impact of this performance?" “Would you recommend this event to others?" Impact can also be gathered through facilitated talk-backs with the performers and community leaders. Collecting testimonials from audiences and hosting organizations is yet another way to assess the emotional and artistic impact of the project.
C. Measuring community collaboration and impact by monitoring the number of organizations we help connect in conjunction with the project in each community(e.g., religious/interfaith institutions, cultural groups).
D. Measuring long term impact by assessing how many individuals or organizations express interest in collaborating for future performances, educational initiatives, or community events. This could include requests for further educational content, guest speakers, or reprised or expanded performances.
E. The sustainability of our project can be measured by increases in donations, grants, or funding as a result of our free performances. This demonstrates the broader community investment in continuing these initiatives.
